TEDx in 2014: A look back

anxchain

2014 was a year of milestones for TEDx: We turned five, reached 10,000 events and our 50,000th talk went online.

We had our first event in Cuba; our first 10,000-person event; and watched 2,540 events happen all over the world, including events in prisons, in libraries, outside, at the UN, in farming communities and with Kermit the Frog.

We watched a lot of talks, saw a lot of photos and even made an infographic.

But it’s hard to truly explain what TEDx was like in 2014 in words, so instead we’ll show you. To provide an idea of what 2014 looked like for TEDx communities across the globe, we give you over 200 TEDx events in two minutes. Watch below:

Thank you to all the TEDx’ers who helped make 2014 an amazing year in TEDx! We’ll see you in 2015!

Note: TEDx applications are currently closed and the TEDx office will close tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. EST. Both will reopen on Monday, January 5, at 10 a.m. EST.
