To celebrate the theme of TEDxVilnius 2015 — “Pale Blue Dot” – virtuoso accordionist Martynas Levickis and string quartet SinChronic worked together to perform four movements of Danish composer Poul Ruders’s epic, “Serenade on the Shores of the Cosmic Ocean,” a nine-movement chamber work inspired by the writings of astronomer Carl Sagan.

The piece, which draws inspiration from space travel, science and exploration, is paired with a collection of stunning visuals — projected onto the space behind the performers — from video of the Earth from above to dazzling snapshots of stars.
