This year, the team at TEDxLahore celebrated traditional Pakistani music with a performance from Lahore-based ensemble Sachal Jazz Orchestra. The group not only plays South Asian classics, but also uses the sitar, flute, tabla, naal, dholak, mridang, guitar, sarangi and ghungroos to put their own spin on jazz and bossa nova classics, from Henry Mancini’s “The Pink Panther Theme” to Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five.”

At TEDxLahore, Sachal Jazz Orchestra showed off their mastery of their instruments with a medley that included “The Pink Panther Theme” and made it clear why they are the stars of the recent feature-length documentary Song of Lahore.
