TEDx teams are fun, clever, and very fond of design. Below, we’ve handpicked some wildly cool animations from TEDx events around the world to get your creative juices flowing:
TEDxLaçador made custom GIFs to announce each one of their speakers. Check out one from the group below:
“What Matters Now” was the theme of TEDxTaipei’s 2014 event. Their custom website was built around this theme, with animations abounding:
The theme for the 2016′s TEDxReims was “vivre ensemble” — or — “living together.” They put together a comprehensive design strategy for the event, including a super cool trailer, a great website, and even custom mugs.
For the very first TEDxBMSCE at B.M.S. College of Engineering in Bangalore, organizers asked graphic design student Akash Kuttappa to create desigms based on the theme “Metamorphose.” Says Kuttappa on his Behance profile on the project, “The word metamorphose is usually associated with the transformation of a caterpillar … to a butterfly, but rather [than] portraying it that way, I chose to go with origami and the different folds it takes to make a butterfly.” See his work below:
TEDxKalamata is an event held in an ancient amphitheater in Greece. Athens-based graphic design group holy were inspired by the setting of the event and the theme — “Brave New World” == to create this spectacular program for the 2013 event. “Kalamata is located at a key geographical point in Mediterranean,” they write of their design. “We did nothing more than translating the vast calm sea and the bright hot sun which dominate the scenery into a light blue and a warm yellow … The brave new world needs a lot of strength, braveness and enormous passion to be formed and all these qualities couldn’t be visualized better than with [one] color: red.”
This GIF is the main image for the TEDxMedellin website, which is filled with interactive elements, cool animations and a lot of style. We love this intricate and beautiful combination of the TEDx logo and the capital of Antioquia.
This is just one of the cool GIFs on the TEDxUofM Tumblr — a project of the University of Michigan students behindd the event. On their site, you can also find some amazing posters made for the event by a slew of different designers.
